What is Jackfruit?

Jackfruit is a large, tree-borne fruit, native to tropical Asia.

Our Tomato & Basil in a rich, aromatic, organic tomato and basil sauce, making it a healthy and delciosu vegan option to your lasagne or pasta!

Young Jackfruit has a tender, meat-like consistency and a subtle taste, making it extremely versatile and perfect in savoury dishes such as salads, burgers, tacos, pizzas and much more.

Macaroni / Penne with Tender Jack Tomato and Basil

IIngredients:

Ingredients:

Choose between a gluten-free pasta, rice or quinoa.

Tender Jack Tomato and Basil

Fresh basil leaves

Grated vegan cheese (optional)

A pinch of salt

A pinch of pepper

olive oil

 

Preparation:

For the pasta:

  1. Boil plenty of salted water and a little olive oil.
  2. Add the pasta and cook until reaching the “al dente” texture, 4-5 minutes, depending on the type of gluten-free pasta.
  3. Drain and set aside.

 

For the Jackfruit:

  1. In a deep frying pan or wok, sauté the Jackfruit for 6-8 minutes or until it becomes to soften.
  2. Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the jackfruit, mix everything well and cook together for approximately 2-4 minutes.
  3. When serving, add chopped fresh basil leaves and grated vegan cheese if desired.
